Career Closet need your help

Modern Sofa Bed

Cooking Swap.

Mushroom_2 Mr. AB準備Portobello mushrooms with pesto and pine nuts,

Butternut squash soup with coconut and ginger,

Duck breasts  with mustard and candied kumquats,

SPA DO'S AND DON'T'S

DO:
TIP. It’s customary to leave 15 to 20 percent for any   personalized service. Gift certificates don’t generally include gratuity.   When in doubt, ask.

SHOWER BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT. Though your massage therapist   will likely use scented oils and such, nothing can cover a day’s worth   of mountain biking. And bring stuff for your post-shower treatment, too.

TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE. The only place more inappropriate   for a mobile phone would be a funeral.

COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR THERAPIST. Tell them where it hurts,   and where you’d like more or less pressure throughout the treatment. Don’t   get bossy; just don’t be shy.

RELAX. Massage and meditation are soul mates. Go ahead, fall   asleep.

HYDRATE. Massage breaks up toxins. Drinking water before and   after your treatment will help your body’s natural elimination process.

CHECK FOR OTHER AMENITIES. Some spas have hot tubs and steam   rooms for guest use. It’d be a shame if they went to waste.

USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT. ’Nuff said.

DON'T:
WEAR HEAVY PERFUMES OR DEODORANTS. Some therapists have allergies   or are sensitive to overbearing fragrances.

BRING BABIES OR TODDLERS. Apparently, this isn’t obvious.

ASSUME IT’S OKAY TO NOT SHOW UP. Space and time are   reserved for you, and cost the spa money if you flake.

BE AFRAID TO GET NAKED. Clothing is optional, of course. But   a trained professional knows how to maintain your privacy while having access   to those glutes and lower back (spots clothing usually covers).

SHOW UP DRUNK. Massage is a detoxifying treatment. Don’t   mix the two.

EAT A HEAVY MEAL BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT. This will only make   your body work harder at breaking down toxins.

THE PERFECT WEEKEND SPA GETAWAY

SYCAMORE HOT SPRINGS WEEKEND GETAWAY
1215 Avila Dr., San Luis Obispo
(800) 234-5831

www.sycamoresprings.com
Don’t tell your partner where the two of you are going. Just tell him or her to pack one nice outfit, swim trunks, a toothbrush, a pair of hiking shoes, shorts, some sunglasses and a crossbow (or something throw ’em off the scent). Then drive to Sycamore Hot Springs for your surprise weekend getaway (after you’ve made reservations, of course). You will be the hero. Be sure to ask for a room with its own mineral spring hot tub (there are several), which delivers mineral-rich, 104-degree water that will make you immortal (not really). Take a dip in one of the three freshwater pools (one of which, “The Oasis,” is a 30-person hot tub nestled amongst the rocks and trees); pick your degree of difficulty and hike to some of California’s most breathtaking coastal views; indulge in a variety of therapeutic spa treatments, including massages and facials; and relax in one of the many redwood hot tubs tucked against the hillside. Rinse and repeat.
